The way news industry operates has had drastic changes on the news is delivered, but also where people get their news from.

Newspaper have seen mayor readership loss, as large portion of news can be accessed by the internet.

Furthermore, individual journalist have lost their jobs over the revolution of the news room. As their skills can be done in a more effect way, but also cheaper.

However, there is still hope for journalist to be successful as local news will always be important to local the community.

But newspapers have suffered the huge loss of ad revenue where mainstream advertiser are losing interest in having ads in newspapers, however, local business still have large interests in having ads in it.

As there are still a large and older demographic still engage in a local paper.

Compared to the an online story where you would find ads everywhere, but also you would usually find the bigger companies advertising in the big news outlets the “The Age” and the “Herald Sun”.

As this puts pressure on the local news companies to stay sustainable, but also the local journalist be successful.

Additionally different types of journalism like sport and automotive have not seen major changes nor journalist have seen the rate of job loss compared to the main stream news.

Overall the nature of journalism has changed drastically, but also has become more completive now where everything is so easily accessible and people can find the news that they want and where they want to get it from.
